Going to a spa tomorrow..????
My husband has paid for a spa day for me tomorrow and now I am worrying
about using the spa bath and sauna..does anybody know if its safe to do so
otherwise l think it may be a waste of money. I am 10 weeks btw...
Thanks a lot..I will phone first thing and cancel...its not worth
rebooking as it could be quite some time before I'd wanna go after having
baby. Better safe than sorry..I am sure we will find something else to do....lol
not sure about a spa bath, but definitly avoid jaccuzi and
sauna. I remember wanting to go when i was pregnant and there were
warnings outside, so i didn't go as couldn't go in anything!
Saunas & Jacuzzis can cause hyperthermia (abnormally high body
temperature) & this can be a concern for pregnant women. There is concern
that a body temperature over 101 degrees in the first trimester can cause
an increased risk of birth defects. Most OB-GYNs recommend that you do
not let ur core body temperature get over 102.2 degrees at any time in
pregnancy.
Hot tubs are usually kept at a temperature of 104 degrees, which means that it will only take 10 minutes in the hot tub to raise ur body temperature to 102 degrees or higher. Call the place & see if they have special activities for pregnant women, such as a pregnancy massage or a warm bath or maybe pregnancy yoga beginner is class. If you want to be able to do those other things, save the spa day for after the baby is born & treat yourself to a well-deserved day of relaxation.
sorry but u cant have a spa or sauna being pregnant.what a nice
thing for your husband to do tho.maybe he can chnage the dates till after
baby born you will REALLY enjoy it then lol
Hi hun my husband paid for me to go to a health spa i was so
made up. That was until i got there!! I couldn't use the Jacuzzi or the
sauna as its too hot and i could faint. I couldn't get my back message as
my belly was in the way! The only thing i did have was a lovely leg and
foot massage. I think your best to ring up to tell them that your pregnant
as you could cancel and wait until you've had the baby.
no don't go to the spa.thats not safe, it is bad enough taking
long hot showers with the baby.it is best to stay out the spa area unless
ur gettin a massage
Sauna is & hot tubs are a no no. You don't want to overheat
your body. Although you can do other things at the spa. At this point
laying on your tummy will probably still be ok, so a massage, or facial,
or something like that would be great..man.I could use one right about
now! *LOL*
most doctors tell you not to use hotubs, spas, or saunas when
you are pg due to extensive levels of heat
